OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

Occupational therapy focuses on helping individuals develop or maintain the skills needed for daily living and working. It addresses physical, cognitive, sensory, and emotional challenges to help individuals to gain independence and confidence. Occupational therapy plays a crucial role in promoting well-being and participation in all aspects of life through personalised interventions to build essential skills such as fine motor coordination, visual-motor integration, self-care routines, and sensory processing.

Fine & Motor Skills

Fine motor skills help with tasks that require precise hand coordination such as tying shoelaces, and manipulating small objects like buttons. Visual motor skills help the coordination between the eyes and hands to perform tasks  such as catching a ball, drawing, or cutting along a line.

Handwriting Skills

Handwriting requires the integration of both fine motor and visual skills. This helps individuals develop the ability to hold a writing instrument correctly and produce clear, well-formed handwriting, which is essential for effective communication and academic success.

Sensory Processing

Helping the brain understand the surrounding world processing by interpreting sensory information such as sight, sound, touch, smell, and taste. This enables us to interact effectively with our surroundings, make decisions, and navigate the world safely and efficiently.

Self Care

Learning important ways to grow and develop independence involves mastering daily self-care activities such as brushing teeth, getting dressed, and washing hands. These skills are fundamental for building self-sufficiency and confidence in children and individuals as they navigate through life.
